A shelter from the Second World War has been discovered in Żejtun when works were being carried out by Infrastructure Malta.
This shelter, which has several access points from different locations, was most likely used by local families as a quick refuge from air attacks during the war.
Infrastructure Malta stated that it is working closely with the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage (SCH) to ensure that the site is documented and the necessary studies are carried out.
