Six individuals have been arrested by the police over usury and money laundering.

The arrest was made following investigations over the past several months by the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Department.

On Monday morning, the police conducted an operation on Stiefnu Zerafa Street and Triq is-Santissima Trinita in Marsa, locations from which the arrested individuals allegedly operated.

Investigations carried out so far have identified around 50 victims.

From several residences on these streets, the police seized thousands of euros in cash, exotic animals and other items considered relevant to the ongoing investigation.

The inquiry is being led by Magistrate Joe Mifsud, while police investigations are still ongoing.
