Emergency responders were dispatched to Birkirkara yesterday following a residential structure fire, prompting a coordinated response involving multiple Civil Protection Department fire stations
Firefighters from Fire Stations 1, 2, 3, 4, 8 and 11 were dispatched to the scene, where crews carried out what officials described as a “long and delicate operation” to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further.
Emergency personnel assisted one resident at the scene before the individual was admitted to hospital for further treatment. The extent of the injuries has not yet been confirmed.
In a statement, Civil Protection Malta thanked several entities for their support during the operation, including the Emergency Department at Mater Dei Hospital, the Malta Police Force and Enemalta plc.
Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the cause of the fire, and investigations are expected to continue.
