Maltese writer and director Alex Camilleri, best known for his award-winning debut Luzzu, has teased his new feature film titled Żejtune.

Camilleri shared a short video announcing the project, captioned:
“ŻEJTUNE – a film by Alex Camilleri, featuring Michela Farrugia and Nenu Borg. Coming soon.”

While details about the storyline remain under wraps, the teaser confirms that the film will star Michela Farrugia and Nenu Borg, two familiar faces in Maltese cinema and theatre.

Luzzu put Camilleri firmly on the international film map after premiering at Sundance and earning widespread acclaim, making Żejtune one of the most anticipated Maltese film projects in recent years.

No release date has been announced yet, but with production now being teased publicly, it looks like Żejtune is officially on the way.
