A man who was reported missing earlier today has been found dead in a field in the Bulebel area, police have confirmed.

The discovery was made at around 5.30pm, while officers were carrying out intensive searches for the missing man.

Police later confirmed the deceased was Eusebio Abela, who was certified dead at the scene.

Investigators have ruled out the involvement of third parties.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia has been informed and appointed an inquiry, while police investigations remain ongoing.
