This festive season, Rosselli-AX Privilege, proudly unveils a unique creative collaboration that unites fashion, art, fine dining and luxury service in a celebration of excellence. In partnership with renowned Maltese artist James Dimech, Rosselli and its Grain brands present a 1960s-inspired paper couture photoshoot and short film, conceived to honour the property’s three prestigious Michelin recognitions.
Three paper dresses. Three awards. One unified story.
The project pays tribute to:
- Under Grain’s Michelin Star
- Grain Street’s Michelin Bib Gourmand
- Rosselli – AX Privilege’s Michelin Key
Each recognition is interpreted through a bespoke paper couture creation, transforming Michelin accolades into sculptural works of art.
Where Art Meets Hospitality
At the heart of this project is the vision of James Dimech, recently featured in the international publication Dolce as “The Creative Brilliance of Magnificent Malta.” Dimech’s work, rooted in storytelling, texture and meticulous handcraft, explores form, movement and fragility through paper – a deliberate parallel to the discipline and precision behind Michelin-recognised hospitality.
Set within the refined interiors of Rosselli – AX Privilege and the spaces of Grain Street and Under Grain, the photoshoot captures a dialogue between art, fashion and gastronomy. The choice of paper as a medium reflects both fragility and control, qualities shared by haute couture and Michelin-level cuisine. Inspired by the elegance and bold silhouettes of the 1960s, the designs echo a timeless sense of style while remaining unmistakably contemporary.
Celebrating Michelin Excellence
This collaboration reinforces Rosselli – AX Privilege’s position as a destination for discerning travellers and diners. By translating Michelin recognitions into an artistic language, the project highlights the values shared across Rosselli, Under Grain and Grain Street: creativity, attention to detail and an uncompromising commitment to quality.
“At Under Grain and Grain Street, everything begins with craft. From how ingredients are sourced, to how a dish is finished on the plate. This project mirrors that same philosophy. The paper couture celebrates patience, precision and creativity, values we live by every day in our kitchens,” reflecting on the collaboration, Chef Victor Borg, AX Privilege Culinary Director, shared
The narrative is equally rooted in the hotel itself. Fabien Sant Fournier, Hotel Manager at Rosselli AX Privilege, highlights the significance of the Michelin Key.
“The Michelin Key recognises more than luxury. It recognises experience, consistency and soul. Rosselli is a place where heritage, exceptional service and contemporary creativity meet and this collaboration brings that spirit to life in a powerful, visual way,” he said.
As the campaign unfolds across digital platforms and media features, it forms part of Rosselli’s wider festive narrative, celebrating culture, collaboration and the pursuit of excellence in every form.
An Invitation to Experience the Installation
Throughout the festive season, the paper couture dresses are displayed in a showcase within the hotel façade, transforming Rosselli – AX Privilege into a temporary street-level exhibition. The installation invites guests and passers-by to pause, observe and experience the artistry up close. Whether discovered while strolling through Valletta or arriving with intention, visitors are encouraged to capture and share the installation, allowing the story to live beyond the window and into the city itself.
Guests are also invited to step inside and dine at Under Grain and Grain Street. The installation is on display at Rosselli – AX Privilege, Merchants Street, Valletta, throughout the festive season.
