Eight-year-old Kane Lee has made history in the Maltese hip hop scene, becoming the youngest Maltese breaker to reach the finals and secure second place at an international competition in Greece held last weekend.
Kane competed at โProve Youโre a Proโ, an all-style hip hop battle that drew young talent from multiple countries, taking place in Greece.
The event featured a rigorous qualification stage judged by professional international judges, who selected only the top four dancers in the Under-9 category to advance to the finals.
Kane not only qualified but went on to face a dancer from Romania in the final battle, ultimately claiming second place and proudly representing Malta on the international stage.
At just eight years old, Kaneโs journey is already extraordinary. Immersed in dance culture from birth, he grew up in the studio alongside his parents, who are actively involved in the Maltese hip hop scene through Street Elements Dance School.
From an early age, Kane developed a strong connection to breaking, training consistently and expressing himself through movement with a passion and discipline beyond his years.
This achievement marks a significant milestone for Maltese urban culture, highlighting the rising standard of local hip hop and the growing potential of young Maltese artists on the international stage.
Kaneโs performance impressed both judges and audiences alike, not only for his technical skills but also for his confidence, musicality, and genuine love for the culture. His story serves as a powerful inspiration for young dancers and creatives across Malta.
Well done Kane!
